Deposits, Refunds and Cancellations

Please Note: Our advance reservation and cancellation policy is vital in the management of a small inn.

CHECK IN/OUT:
Check in is from 3:00PM.  Check out is promptly at 11:00AM.
A $50 fee will be added to your bill for each hour you occupy the room past the check-out time unless you have made prior arrangements.
A $25 key fee will be charged for not returning your room key(s) at check-out.

MINIMUM STAYS:
A three night minimum stay is required on public holidays as published.  A two night minimum stay is required most weekends beginning in April through the month of October.

DEPOSIT:
The Lodge on Lake Lure requires any stay for one night to be charged in full at the time of booking.  All stays two nights or longer requires a deposit of 50%.  Bookings within our 15 day cancellation period will be charged in full.  All remaining balances are due upon check-out. Separate group terms apply.

CANCELLATION:
Cancellations for individual bookings require a minimum of 14 days advance notice.  For a cancellation received in writing outside of the 14-day term, we will refund the deposit, minus a cancellation fee of $40.00 per room.  For a cancellation received in writing inside of the 14-day term, the total amount of the reservation is forfeited.  In this case, we will issue a refund (less the applicable cancellation fee) in the form of a gift certificate if we are able to re-let for the entire reservation period.

GROUP CANCELLATION:
A group booking is defined as a block booking by either a person or corporate entity reserving a minimum of 5 rooms on the same dates, or a minimum of at least 12 room nights on the same date or dates. A group cancellation requires at least 60 days advance notice.  For a cancellation received in writing outside of the 60-day term, we will refund the deposit, minus a cancellation fee of $40.00 per room.  In the event of a cancellation inside the 60-day term, the deposit is forfeited.  In this case, we will make every effort to re-let all of the rooms reserved for the entire period.  Should we be successful, we will issue a credit towards your next booking.

GROUP SERVICE CHARGE AND TAXES
For group functions and events, all food, beverages, and incidental charges are subject to a 20% service charge and NC state sales and alcoholic beverage tax. Site and facility fees are also subject to the sales tax.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
In compliance with North Carolina Liquor Laws, The Lodge on Lake Lure is the only authorized licensee able to sell and serve wine in the Tree Tops Dining Room and throughout the premises. Alcoholic beverages other than those bought directly from the Lodge may only be consumed in the guest rooms. The Lodge reserves the right to refuse service to any person who appears intoxicated.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We realize that cancellations are often beyond your personal control.  For this reason we recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind.  The Lodge on Lake Lure will be happy to supply your travel insurance company with any needed documentation regarding our policy and your reservation.  For insurance information please visit www.insuremytrip.com.

NON-SMOKING FACILITY:
We offer all of our guests a smoke-free environment.  A smoker who disregards our policy and renders a room unacceptable to incoming guests will be responsible for cleaning fees and the Lodge will be compensated for future lost revenue.

DAMAGE POLICY:
We reserve the right to charge guests for any willful and/or reckless damage to our property which includes the interior decoration of our rooms and public areas. Any damage will be documented and we will either replace or, wherever possible, clean the damaged item. All ordinary wear and tear is specifically excluded.

CHILDREN:
We seek to provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all of our guests; therefore our facility is not suitable for young children.  Please accompany and supervise your children at all times.  The Extra Person Fee will apply to children of any age.  If we are not made aware of children at time of booking, we will charge the extra person fee upon arrival.

EXTRA GUESTS:
Our room prices are for two adult guests.  Rooms with a pull out sofa or optional rollaway bed are able to accommodate one extra guest.  In order to have an extra bed set up in your room please advise us in advance. A charge of $48 plus tax/fees per night will be added for each extra guest regardless of age.  If we are not made aware of extra guests at the time of booking, we will charge the extra person fee upon arrival.

PET POLICY:
The Lodge on Lake Lure welcomes families with pets. Our Barnwood, Mellow Yellow or Secret Garden rooms can accommodate pets with an additional cleaning fee. Please make reservations in advance for either of these rooms. For more information, please contact the Lodge.

REFRIGERATORS:
Due to the North Carolina State Health Inspection laws, we are unable to store guest’s food, beverages, or medications in our kitchen.  We have refrigerators available upon request for $10 per day. Quantities are limited.
